This Prayer Book is designed to assist those entrusted with conducting or leading a group prayer service. It is equally suitable for personal prayer when needed. The prayers were written for specific occasions. But, by substituting key words for others (such as meeting instead of conference), they can be made suitable for other occasions. This version of the Prayer Book has been prepared by Robert Haverfield and Susan Haverfield of the Past Captains and Commanders Association for use by the members of the Eighth Western Rivers Region of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and members of Team Coast Guard. These prayers have been taken from the 2nd Western Rivers Prayers for all Occasions, the Chaplains Resource Board, and the Prayers for the Coast Guard. The Funeral and Graveside Services were removed from the original version to be included in the Memorial Guide. PRAYER BOOK COMMITTEE

Frederick W. Reece. Frank Caughey was a retired Military Chaplain and member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 31-09 8WR and a RCO of the former Second Western Region.
