"We need to build a better world for our children and grandchildren..." is how George W. Bush starts his speech at the State of the Union. He goes on to say that we must add to our achievements as a nation by making it more flexible, innovative, and competitive. If we do these things America will remain the economic leader of the world. America's prosperity involves limiting the Federal governments spending. Bush adds that he will send the people of America a budget that holds the growth of discretionary spending under inflation, makes tax relief permanent, and stays on track to cut the deficit in half by 2009. Tax payer's money must be spent wisely or not at all. He also says that he is going to make health care more affordable and give people a chance to be more in control of their medical decisions.
Bush then moves on with his address and states that he wants Americans to be more secure and less dependent on foreign nations for energy.

Bush then brought up the concept of social security. He wants to strength and save social security for future use. Many people have concluded that the social security funds will be gone by the year 2008. Bush then concluded his speech by addressing the war; he states that we will stay on the offensive against terrorists until the fight is won. We will support the military with the proper tools for victory.
