Abuse hurts, it hurts the abused, the abuser, and every one around. Someone growing up in a family where there is violence or abuse may not know that there are other ways for family members to treat each other. Family violence can affect anyone. It can happen in any kind of family. Sometimes parents abuse each other, which can be hard for a child to witness. Some parents abuse their kids by using physical or verbal cruelty as a way of discipline. Though this may be so, there is not one single reason why people abuse others. Drugs or alcohol may be a factor but still don't give any good reason to injure another persons. Abuse is not a normal or healthy way to treat people.
