Ramadan is Coming

It’s only a few days awayI can’t waitIn anticipationThe coming of the new moonAnd the best month of the yearI hope I’m aliveAlthough I’m youngThere’s no guaranteeThat I’ll be here next monthBeen waitingAnticipatingHopingAnd silently prayingFor a chanceTo experienceAnother RamadhanLast year I triedTo improve and changeLeave the bad habitsThe drinking, womanisingDrugs and clubbingManaged it for 30 daysBut on Eid I went to a raveI gave in, wasn’t braveWent with the flowAnd got totally smashedIts true after Ramadhan Satan is unleashedSince then it’s been downhillMonth after monthFrom one sin to manyThe good deeds slowly fading awayAnd now I’m in debitI just can’t deny itMy intentions are goodMy heart is cleanBut my actions tell another story.

I can do without foodBut I can’t say noWhen my mates invite me to a partyLife is a testAnd I’ve failed so manyIs there hope for me?Or am I destined to burn for eternity?People judge mePoint and make accusationsBut at least I’m honestAnd not a fake wannabe BelieverI have realised thatNo one is perfectNo one is doomedPlenty of time to learn and improveThat’s what the Quran saysGives me hopeAnd I must hold onto the Islamic ropeMix with the good companyAnd not those who are misled by societySay and practice improprietyTime to make a pactAnd correctly actObey Allah and his RasoolAnd stop behaving and acting like a foolRamadhan is comingOnly a few days leftTime to clean upMind and soulYa Allah!Just give me one more chanceI promise I will act like how I ought toAnd make you proud of meYour obediant servant and slave
