Research topic: Global warming effects on Animals
Hello ladies and gentlemen. Today, I will be talking about global warming. (Pause)
There is little doubt that the planet is warming. Over the last century, the planets temperature
has risen by around 1 degree fahrenheit. 0.6 of a degree celsius. The warmest since the mid
1800s was the 1990s. Now, global warming is when the earth heats up ( the temperature rises.)
It happens when carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane trap heat and light from
the sun in the earths atmosphere, which increases the temperature.(Wisland 2013)
As a result, this hurts many people, plants and especially animals. Many cannot take the
change, so they die. The facts about global warming are often debated in politics and the media,
but unfortunately even if we disagree about the causes, global warming effects are real, global
and measurable.
The causes
are mainly from us, the human race, and the effects on us will be severe.Scientists have spent
decades figuring out what is causing global warming. They've looked at the natural cycles and
events that are known to influence climate. One of the first things scientists learned is that there
are several greenhouse gases responsible for warming, and humans emit them in a variety of
ways. Most come from the combustion of fossil fuels in cars, factories and electricity
production.(Gray, 2013) The gas responsible for the most warming is carbon dioxide, also called CO2.
Almost 100 percent observed temperature increase over the last 50 years has been due to the
increase in atmosphere of greenhouse gas concentrations like water vapour, carbon
dioxide(CO2), methane and ozone. (Buzzle,2009)The largest contributing source of greenhouse
gas is the burning of fossil fuels leading to the emission of carbon dioxide.(Rajeev, 2013)
So, now...
