Revenge

In 2011, the television show Revenge was released, a

series of drama, mystery, and thrill. Revenge is captivating

through it's use of suspense between episodes and the drama

between characters. The show moves forward by revealing

secrets about the characters and their pasts, as well as a web

of lives woven by the main character about who she is and what

her purpose is in the Hamptons. The status held in society by

the majority of the characters causes them to care very much

about their image in the media, making them do everything in

their power to keep scandals from becoming public news.

Revenge is a show filled with deceit, lies, scandal, romance,

and of course, great revenge.

At the beginning of the series, Emily Thorne is

introduced, and the audience learns that she is in fact,

Amanda Clarke, daughter of David Clarke. Emily moves back into

her childhood home in the Hamptons, next door to the

Grayson's, the royalty in the Hamptons. When Emily was a

child, the Grayson's framed her father for a crime that they

had committed, and, while he was in prison, the Grayson's had

David Clarke killed from the inside. Emily spent her life

gathering evidence against all of the people that played a

part in betraying her father, and planned to exact revenge on

every one of them. Emily's greatest target was Victoria

Grayson, and to get close to her, she marries Victoria's son,

Daniel. However, many secrets are revealed, and scandal is

leaked to media, making it very difficult for Emily to take

down the Grayson's for good.

Emily Thorne is a very strong character. She shows a lot

of passion through her acts of revenge and hatred towards the

people that betrayed her father,
