CaseThe University of Central Lancashire has experienced a shortage of car park spaces in recent months and a decision has been made to construct a multi story car par in front of foster building, the work involves a 4 storey car park. During the construction work, the entrance to Foster Building will be via Maudland Building. Risk assessmentContextFirstly, in order to reduce all risks assessments should be done by first following the planning stage by gathering information about other such projects which have taken place resources are defined, communication and consultations are set up. This will not only benefit the project but also improve quality of the car park. Part of this planning phase involves identifying legal requirements and deciding on limits for acceptable risks . In cases like this where hazards are unable to be eliminated risks cannot be reduced to zero but must be minimized as far as practical.
