The scarlet letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne explores the nature of sin and iss effects on the human spirits. People experience views and reaction to sin of shape to their life and the morals is different. Hester suffer her sin in the public where she have to wear the scarlet letter. Dimmesdale suffers from not telling the truth. Chillingworth wants to revenge.

First, Hester Prynne viewed her sin of adultery with Dimmesdale was charge to wear the scarlet letter "A" this indicate with her and it's going to stay on her forever. She then give birth to her daughter pearl is a symbol of the letter. Although she suffer in public where everyone in the town treat her as an enemy. She refuses to tell who Pearl's father is. To Hester, Dimmesdale is a high honorable man. she doesn't mind if she ruin her own reputation.

Dimmesdale is a young, handsome proton is Hester's church. He committed the adultery with Hester. He feels guilty and tries to hide his sin. Although he wants to hide the secret to himself he is actually intense suffering and remorse and however is that his guilty reflects of his outside appearance. He can not live his normal life. He keeps being sick but he really don't have and have disease in his body, it is just him.

Chillingworth was a doctor. He left England and went to America two years leaving in his wife Hester behind. Chillingworth understand that leaving Hester behind is his fault. He is not blaming her for her adultery but all he have in his mind is how he can get his man that have adultery with Hester back. He tried to force her to tell him who the man was but Hester refuse.
