Grandpa was sitting down on his favourite chair telling us about the old days. Boy it was boring. He'd be sitting there saying, "Jimmy back in the day we were very respectful to our elders, not like you lot." He'd then go on saying how we all deserved a flogging. Tell you now it was boring.

Grandpa, he's an old bloke in his nineties, but still had life left in him, boy did he pack a punch, my dad told me about this one time last year where my grandpa beat up this young bloke with his bear hands, knocked him out cold. Dad said that grandpa was like a tiger. Never believed it until I saw it for myself. Yep that's right I seen grandpa do it once. Happened last week, grandpa and me, we was walking back from the shops, when suddenly this bloke in a balaclava come up from no where, took grandpa's shopping trolley, right out of his hands.

Grandpa chased the bloke down, jumped on him and beat him up with his stick. They're always saying you got to see it to believe it, well now I can say I did, 'cause I was there.

Anyway grandpa was yapping on and on. Couldn't be bothered listening until just as I was getting up to go to the dunnie, he started to talk about the Great War. Now I knew from my history class that this was eighty-eight years ago. Now that meant that grandpa was still a baby. So I sat down to see what the old bloke was going on about. He said, "Back when I was just a young pup my father, that would be your great-grandfather Edward, fought in the great war. Now my father always used to...
