What are some of characteristics that you would associate with the American people and their society? Why?

The United States of America - country which is home and shelter for almost 300 millions of people, divided into 50 states�. The larges population of many different nations undeniably has many features which are considered as characteristic ones, like obesity, patriotism, mainstream and race diversity. These features are unique for Americans, even though they are present in every other country in the world, because it is said that typical citizen of the USA has problems with weight, loves his or her country, familiarize with the pop culture and, and finally has many newest gadgets.

To begin with, the most popular characteristic of American society is unfortunately obesity�. The country is known for the low food prices that is why citizens do not have any problems with buying groceries. According to statistics, from 1994 the whole country obtained alarming information that from 10% to 14% of Americans from more then 30 states suffered from body fatness.

Even though, it has already been appalling news the rest 16 states presented even worse opinions, namely from 15% to 19% of citizens were touched by this phenomenon. After 15 years only Washington D.C. and Colorado have got the lowest rate of people who are those, that is around 19%. Thus obesity of the rest part of the USA is higher that 25%, or even 30%�. As we can see, the problem of BMI has been raising, hence 59 millions of people are obese and this is certainly the main factor why other nations associate Americans simply with fatness.
