You've all probable heard the saying A penny saved is a penny earned, but today people just don't care that much about the penny. For the most part Pennies have become a nuisance. You can't buy anything with them. You can't use them in a phone. You can't use it in a parking meter. You can't even use it in a vending machine. If you can withstand embarassment and dirty looks you can go to a store with a pocketful of pennies and try to make a purchase. And Then there's trying to save pennies. Let me assure you, this makes absolutely no economic sense. The time it takes to collect, count, wrap them and bring them to the bank is not worth your time, you might as well just throw them on the ground. Then of course theres someone out there willing to pick up that penny off the ground.

yes i agree with the part that you cant buy anyhthing with pennies now-a-days, but if you had collected pennies, such as before pennies before the 1950, you can actually consider yourself rich. Believe it or not, a copper Lincoln penny from 1943 is actually worth a few ten thousands dollars. Though 1944 and 1942 pennies may not be worth as much as teh 1943 one, they are still worth quite a few bucks. You can probably get 10-20 bucks for each of those pennies.(if they are in good condition) Well, the pennies that are made now are only about 5% pure copper while the ones before were about 97% copper! Yea, so thats why pennies arent entirely wothless, it depends on which pennies you got in ur pocket!
