1.0 INTRODUCTION

The articles selected deal with cases of plagiarism in two institutions; these institutions are located in United Kingdom and Australia.

The University College Northampton article is a research being taken at the University to understand the attitudes of staff and student towards plagiarism the research applied quantitative and qualitative method in the research to obtain the results on student and staffs perception on plagiarism while the University of Melbourne, Australia research is on the policies, preparation and prevention of students plagiarism.

The article sees plagiarism as an academic misconduct that should not be condoned within the walls of an institution; the University of Australia provides tips on how this could be managed in any institution.

It also points out why the growth in plagiarism in institutions.

It sees the growth of information technology as a major reason why copying has increased rampantly among student and suggest that it can be managed. "The growth in information technology and more especially, the expansion of the internet has provided huge resources for students, and has facilitated a range of activities that are measured within the parameters of plagiarism. For example, copying of assignments; paraphrasing without editing, forming personal references and changing data". The selected articles discuses and analyze the problems, policy and prevention of plagiarism, it also offers step to step guides on how it could be solved by providing solutions based on the research conducted at these institutions among staff and students.
