In the vast world of science stem cell research is a new concept. There is a lot of controversy throughout the world if it is ethical to use stem cells for research. People believe compare using the embryo as having an abortion. Personally I don't believe that is true I know the embryo could have been put inside a woman and a child could be created but the child isn't created and I don't think you should stop scientific research because it could be or should be used in a different way. I am very pro choice though. I believe if you get pregnant and for whatever reason you decide you don't want to have a child you don't have to. It is your body and your life and you choose how to live it. Don't get me wrong I think it comes to a certain extent if you have had excessive abortions and are using it as birth control or if you are very far along in your pregnancy you shouldn't have them.

Embryonic stem cells are not the only ones we can use though there are also adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells come from an embryo and adult stem cells come from differentiated cells in a tissue or organ. Embryonic stem cells can become any type of cell body because they are pluripotent. Adult stem cells are thought to be limited to the cell types of the organs or tissues they come from. Adult stem cells are thought to be rejected less likely than embryonic stem cells.
