Introduction

THESIS: Don't do roids!

ATTENTION-GETTER: Did you ever read a Muscle and Fitness or Body Building magazine? Well I read them all the time and when I show them to friends and family the first words they say are "Roids." They're wrong. Over 90 percent of body builders don't use Anabolic Steroids; it's the people that want to look like them that take steroids. People don't want to spend the long and countless hours at the gym to look like these body builders. So they shoot it up!

STATEMENT OF THESES: Don't take steroids, the future doesn't look good.

PREVIEW OF MAIN POINTS: I will explain to you who takes steroids and how do they use it, the effects, and alternatives.

I. Who takes steroids?

A. In the past body builders that were very serious about building their bodies mainly used steroids.

Now many athletes in all sports use steroids.

1. Body builders tend to use steroids to increase and inflame their

muscle size. Most body builders are looking for that little extra that will make them the biggest.

2. There are several athletes taking steroids today in football, baseball, hockey, soccer, wrestling, track and field, and swimming.

a. According to the Olympics comity, any use of steroids is banned from all athletes' sense 1975.

b. Steroids are also banned in professional organizations such as: The National Football League, International Amateur Athletic Federation, and National Collegiate Athletic Association.

3. Perhaps the biggest problem associated with steroids is the abusing use by teenagers. Steroids are becoming the new Gatorade for teens that want to bulk up.

a. In many high schools sports are everything. Students will do anything to rise above the rest.
