Introduction/ Background For this project, I am an engineer with the United Parcel Service. Because this company is losing so much money because of damaged or broken packages that customers are receiving, Mr.Wright , my supervisor , has assigned my team the task of creating a "new" packaging system that will increase the probability of the package surviving, as well as to provide packaging a new look to save the company from bankruptcy.
Project Specifications and Objective My objective for this project is to design, build, and test a new packaging system that will withstand the most turbulence as possible. The purpose of the Egg-Drop Competition is to design and build a device or package that will safely deliver a raw large egg from a free height of approximately 35 feet.
