With more and more recordings of the actions we make and the words we speak, one is left to wonder where has our privacy gone? But before you erupt with conspiracy theories and anarchic ideas, understandably there is a purpose behind these eyes in the sky. In the epoch of terrorism and crime, governments strive to keep a Close watch over its people. "For our protection and security" they claim. But whose protection and security are they referring to? The people or the government. With surveillance comes control and with control comes power. The bottom line is surveillance cameras play a significant role in modern day life. Whether for good or for evil, for protection or control, the eyes in the sky are watching.

Orwell, VermontIf you knew that someone was watching your every move, wouldn't you wonder what they thought of you? Wouldn't you do things you normally wouldn't do to impress your silent audience? Of course you would! Constant monitoring is oppressive.
Now even though life today isn't as extreme as the Orwell's society of 1984, we still must question - when does it end? What are the limits of recording people's lives? It is a personal choice we all must make, is it worth sacrificing our privacy for the perception of security. Thank you.
