In our culture there are many things that people are affected by, for
instance violent television shows. In the age of instant media,
violence can
be brought live and direct into the home. Wither it be videogames, or
song
lyrics, people are affected by everything they hear. For instance a
song
that has lyrics like, "Pushing little children, with their fully
automatics,
they like to push the weak around", when referring to police would send
messages that the police are abusing their authority.(appendix a)
Television
shows also have a big effect on children, for example The Mighty
Morphing
Power Rangers. In this show rampant violence is expressed, but the
intended
purpose is to attract children into watching the show. Young children
that
may come upon watching some of these shows, later in there lives are
less
likely to be affected by deaths in their families, due to all the death
they
see on the television.
