Here are a few reasons...

#1 Biblically Because...

There is not a greater friend of Israel than Jesus. Jesus said, "If you have done it to the least of these my brethren you have done it unto me!" (Matt 25:40) Furthermore, a Christian believes in the authority of Scripture and thus embraces these facts: 1) God gave to the nation of Israel the land of Canaan (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:18-19; 21:12); 2) God promised that he would bring the Nation of Israel, after being dispersed throughout the world, again into the land of Israel - a prophecy that was miraculously fulfilled when Israel declared Statehood in 1948 (Read Ezekiel 36 - 39); 3) The Bible foretells that the Kingdom of God will be ruled on earth from Jerusalem (Zech. 12 & 14; Rev. 19). To "bless Israel" is to celebrate the truthfulness of God's character. It is to celebrate God's faithfulness, the same character and faithfulness that every Christian is dependant upon in a right relationship with God.

#2 Historically Because...

The roots of the Christian faith are imbedded in the soil of Judaism! While some Christians try to deny the connection between Jesus of Nazareth and the Jews of the world, Jesus never denied his Jewish-ness, nor should the church. Losing perspective of the roots of the Christian faith (and God's covenant with Israel) is one reason the church has been guilty of horrible acts of anti-Semitism throughout its history. Jesus was born Jewish. He was circumcised on the eighth day in keeping with Jewish tradition. He had his Bar Mitzvah on his 13th birthday. He kept the Law of Moses and He wore the Prayer Shawl Moses commanded all Jewish men to wear. He died on a cross with an inscription over His head, "King of the Jews," and...
