Why do you think people attend college or university?

People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experience, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reason and examples to support your answer.

In our days most of young people after school are going to college. Some of them are looking for new skills to get a good well-paid job with huge salary, others because of their parents, and some or to have an opportunity to place a mark in a check box “Bachelor degree” or “University degree”. In my native country after school some of male young people after school are going to college or university not to go to the military army. When I went to the college in my country, I had all of this reasons.

A lot of young people after service in the army have got disabilities and psychological illnesses. This in not because of war… This is all about service regulations rules and relationships between fresh guys and experienced ones. In our days this is the most important reason for many young male people.

My Second reason was –to get an opportunity to place a mark in a check box “University degree”. In our country for many jobs it doesn’t mater what is your major. It is more important whether you have university degree or not. This doesn’t work with specific jobs, but usually most of people with university degrees working not in their main major.
