Stem Cells have the potential to change the world, there's tons of research into the possible of curing and treating of different ailments and diseases. Stem cell research can save lives and alleviate the pain people go through. If there's a way to save lives and keep people from suffering why not give it a try? The Merriam-Webster Dictionary states that a stem cell is "a simple cell in the body that is able to develop into any one of various kinds of cells (such as blood cells, skin cells, etc."(2014). A stem cell is special type of cell that has an exceptional capability to forever reintroduce itself and still be able to separate into any cell type in the body (Christopherson and Nesti, 2011, p.

1). Being that these cells are able to undergo permanent deformation, this is what makes them a great source for replacing and/or regenerating ruined tissue (Christopherson and Nesti, 2011, p. 1). Basically these cells are what is needed to create us as human beings. They are able to develop into many different types of cells in the body (National Institute of Health). Adding on to that they accommodate as a marginally internal repair system were they divided and able to repair or replenish any cell of any human that is still alive (National Institute of Health, 2002). Stem cells were known to be first used in 1896 (Merriam-Webster, 2014).
