The night was calm. A cool breeze drifted across the tarnished ground, as I adored the stars in the sky. I walked into the ball and complained to the bloke who was taking me to the dress-up party, "Awwwh! Why do we need to do this?"

"Coz it's a break from those nasty days we've been havin' and plus it'll be some fun" he replied

"But why do I look like this?!" he just laughed and led me into the dance at the old Dubbo Gaol.

I was wearing a suit and half a mask. It made me feel as though I wasn't of this world, like we stepped onto the moon for that one night, I was looking fancy as if I were the phantom of the opera.

While I was following my mate, past the masked prisoners making remarks, and just before the gallows, my eyes were caught on the prettiest girl I've ever seen, I couldn't turn away, a padlock had grabbed me by surprise and kept my eyes locked onto her.

I stopped walking to avoid any collision with anything infront of me. She turned around and stopped. Miraculously spotting me, the padlock had then opened, leaving me to blush at the fact I had been found guilty gazing at the perfect girl.

She was wearing a white chemise with unbelievably realistic wings, exactly symbolic of her angelic nature. It was a sight for sore eyes compared to the harsh drought outside. She looked as beautiful as a jewel in a crown.

There are times in your life where you're unsure of everything, but at that moment I knew we were meant for each other, I walked over to her. I'm sure she felt the same way about me, I had that special feeling deep...
