The country itself is rich, economically and naturally, however since the fall of the USSR life for its population became a lot worse. They are poor, and technologically backwards, many people try to immigrate from Kazakhstan either back to Russia, or Europe, or the US. This is the case for much of the former USSR countries, the countries have their own natural resources, but the government is mostly corrupt, and exploits these resources without providing the public with any of the resources. Ukraine is especially corrupt and poor, even though it was considered the bread basket of the Soviet Union, if only the Soviet Union had never fell, all these countries would have prospered.
