that sentence "As a woman I have no country. As a woman my country is the whole world" is really good example of feminist thoughts and revolt against man dominated society, also woolf is the best pioneer of feminist criticism. is it by force or is it by choose to be a woman?

no reference? this seems odd, you should at least add 2 or 3 references to historical documents, this is rubbish without them.

but which version of the movie you've watched, that one in 1932 is just like something else, just like the young and the restless but that one in 1957 they say, it is overlapping in each scene with the novel.

That's is the very topic that I've been looking for, its satire of human being. Congratulations. It is a pity that I think only you and few of the users have done that so far. :)

Congratulations, you've done well. The corruption is the most satirical meaning conveyed throughout the book. Apart from pigs and other animals taking an active part in the decay of the farm, which is the symbol of Stalin's Russia, the best satire is on the human being, their selfishness, egoism, that their doing everything on their own good and even the most innocent one certainly corrupts when one find the absolute power is very important point in the work. In other worlds, I wouldn't be surprised if Orwell had showed us the corruption of boxer in a way that he got the power.

I liked it. it goods and the most important point about the movie is that an insight into to life of an ordinary man which is performed by Kevin Spacey, his peak and lowest conditions sudden changes in his life, indifference of his family's to his life, working as a slave, couldn't have power to make a stand to stop all these madness, like we do in everyday, in school, in work, in life, overwhelmed by managers, by teachers, doing what we said to do, just obeying the rules, killing the potential creativity in oneself, becoming just like you and just like me, we will at the end will be the same. losers.

For me, another point is that, while the setting is superior to human I mean Nature, like in Moby dick which is similar to this story with same elements, is really challenging rival for human being, and the merely victory belongs the nature all the time, for example while we see that the dog is man's best and only friend in the story, he is in deed a part of the nature like the man himself. So he wants to use a gun against its real owner, that's useless again. But the setting of the story really so perfect that I was really feeling like I'm in a blizzard and snow flakes, couldn't do anything but to turn on the heater. Good point of view.

Yea good and the most important part of the story all you mention, good work, I actually didn't like the story it is like those Indian movies or Turkish movies, which is about some sort of poor guy and gal, but this gives the point clearly, as the most invaluable thing in the world as love.

  • For me

It is an outcome of hopelessness, for example when she flirts with Robert, she does this because she thinks that she finds someone who can understand her and take her as she is, but later on, when Robert gets away from her, she finds another man to have something though she is not in love. Point is that, this woman, Edna, beyond feeling lonely, doesn't know what to do, she , in my humble opinion, just wants someone to be with him all the time, so that makes her selfish, because she just like an ivy which is seeking a wall to lean on, so when she couldn't find anyone to do this, she finds another guy, who probably make her feel secure, so she is just a soul that couldn't live on her own, and also selfish and rebel one.

You are really good at seeing the crucial points in the story, especially point that says that the purity of the ocean where, certainly, Edna would be accepted without any judgment, prejudgment or anything, also she was dressed at the first chapters of the story with expensive and luxurious things but at the end of the book she was totally undressed like we are in the real world, for example you are born naked and on death, this may be also regarded as point of realism.

George Orwell is surely successful writer of all ages for me, but one point about his style is that though he always cricitizes government or authority, he couldn't go beyond it, I mean while he always sees the reality of the age, he just can't find a eligible solution to situations. But this book and its movie is really good example of fiction and satire.

Another point about racism can be seen from the view of Tom when they are at a dinner, they mention a book about the white races, then tom adds a comment like, "the white race is far more beautiful and superior than the others, etc." for me the book itself is not so charming or a masterpiece, it is like an old movie, which is about a poor guy who later on becomes rich, but as a realistic point of view it is really good example of American dream.
