Hi,You obviously have not read the entire book. The finale doesn't end with Jimmy and Elsa remaining at Old Fort Chimo. Quite the contrary they must return because of Jimmy's sickness. Furthermore, Jimmy leaves Elsa and they never speak again in the novel.The final sentence, "She would separate them strand by strand and blow upon them, her ruined face smiling to see them rise and scatter into the evening," has great significance to this novel and thematic content could have been explored much more thoroughly in your essay from this quote.Overall, you are just doing a plot summary. It is not an essay, and it deserves a poorer mark than your teacher assigned it.
