Good point. However, The reason why students write persuasive speeches or papers in school is not because they care for the subject (if they do, great!), it's so that they can practice the technique. Take it from a tenth grade student that has to hand in a speech by Monday. Think about it though, if students don't practice persuasiveness in writing because they didn't care about the topic, how would they be able to write say a persuasive speech on "The Global Meltdown" effectively.My English teacher always says, "You may not care for what you're being taught now, but you'll be glad for it in the future"
