  • Good, but more could be said...

This is a reasonable introduction to evaluating the pros and cons of qualitative and quantitative methods. The only two things I would say, are that firstly there is much much more which could be said about the two methods (this essay only really scratches the surface) and that secodnly, perhaps the author should refrain from trying to conclude that one method is better than the other. Both have their applications, and both can be very useful if used properly - one is not 'better' than the other.

  • Very comprehensive.

Likewise, I am a management student in the UK (studying at th university of Hull). I found it very interesting to read about some of the techniques employed by Home Depot in attempting to improve performance. Some of the techniques and references in the essay were ones which I had not previously heard of, and the author does a great job of explaining them in sufficient detail for the reader to understand their potential effect on the business. A great and genuinely interesting essay!

  • Good intoduction to 'empowerment'.

This is an interesting subject for an essay, and the author has done a good job of presenting the facts, as well as his/her own views. There are some good references, as well as some good examples given. The stucture of the essay could perhaps be a little more 'flowing' - there are too many small paragraph breaks for my liking. Overall however, I would rate this as a good essay.

  • A good introduction to the case.

This is a good essay on the whole, containing much more information that initially meets the eye. An overall summary of the essay would be that it is heavy on stats, but low on referencing. More of a conclusion is needed to make it a truly good essay. Overall though, it is interesting to read, and would be a great source of information for anyone writing a similar essay.
