Conflict Resolution

Conflict will happen when there is a difference of thought among each member's ideas and opinions. In every team there will be some sort of conflict in getting to know each team member's style or thought process. In order to be productive the team needs to focus on the group project as a whole and not as what is best for one particular member. We will discuss what each member contributes to the team. Also, we will explain why having a facilitator is important to keep the team from reaching an impasse. Lastly, we will help you to identify and resolve any conflicts that you might have in a learning group. Once you have read this paper you will be better suited to perform as a team.

First we would like to start on the contributions each team member makes to the group. Brainstorming is an important part of coming up with a solution to the problem at hand.

Even though you might not agree with each other during this process of coming up with ideas. Ultimately you will come together with the solution through the "what if" part of brainstorming. If you take what I said and apply it with what you said, we can put together pieces of each members idea to find an answer. Even though it might have seemed like a conflict in the group, we were actually working together. The key to brainstorming is to be flexible. You have to open your mind so that you can see the other person's point of view. Also there has to be mutual respect for each other. If every one felt like the other person's idea was stupid or thought, "That won't work" you would never come up with a solution. Each member contributes by brainstorming.
