For the next ?-? minutes we will be discussing Aileen Wuornos. Time being limited we will focus on three areas of her life: 1st Her Childhood,2nd her adulthood, and 3rd A retrospective.

Childhood:

Aileen was born on February 29, 1956 in Rochester Michigan. She had a year older brother Keith, Aileen's mother Diane Wuornos had the children at the age of 15 when she married their father, Leo Pittman. Two months before Aileen's birth, Diane and Leo filed for divorce. Aileen never had the chance to meet her father because he was in prison when she was born for the rape of a 7 year old girl and attempt of murder. Her father was a schizophrenic man convicted for sex crimes against children. He later hung himself in prison in 1969. When Aileen was three she was abandoned by her mother and given to her biological grandparents Lauri and Britta.

Diane claimed that Aileen and Keith were crying unhappy babies. Lauri and Britta Wuornos legally adopted Aileen and Keith as their own children , they never told them that they were their grandparents until Aileen found out at the age of 12. When Aileen was in Jr. High she multiple problems in school, at the age of 11 she was sexually active in exchange for cigarettes, drugs and food. While in school Aileen had an IQ of 81 which was a dull low normal range, she was only 10 away from being classified as being mentally retarded. Having a terrible childhood as she did, Aileen claimed to have had sexual activities with her brother Keith as well as she said that her grandfather Lauri sexually abused her.
