Global Warming is a serious epidemic affecting the earth due to the main carelessness of its inhabitants. Even a slight temperature change due to Global warming can affect us and the earth with such things as polar ice caps melting causing global flooding. If the temperature were to still increase it could cause drastic affects to the earth and the earth's population.

An article named "Life in the greenhouse" cites many facts and data that are occurring due to Global warming. Studies that have proved Global warming is affecting the earth are fairly new although the idea that the planet has been increasing in temperature has been theoretical for the past few decades. A study done by the U.N. sponsored Intergovernmental panel on Climate Change shows and makes clear that the effects of are carelessness has begun showing that just within the past century the worldwide temperatures has increased one degree Fahrenheit.

Even more clear evidence is the glaciers and legendary snows of Kilimanjaro disappearing from its mountaintop, coral reefs dying off as the seas increase in temperature, drought being the norm in parts of Asia and Africa, and these are just a few of the mainly events already occurring. By 2100 the IPCC says that the earths average temperatures will increase between 2.5 F and 10.4 F which is more than 50% higher than predictions made half a decade ago. Although this may not appear as much of a change, consider that it only took an increase of 9 F to bring an end to the last ice age. Scientists fear that even moderate temperature increases could cause the climate to reach a "Tipping point" meaning a point at which even a tiny additional increase would throw the system into a violent change. The fact is that in short...
