B. In the past eggs have gotten a bad rap with rampant rumors about kamikaze cholesterol.

and hapless heart disease. I cook eggs almost every morning in one way or another and am surrounded by egg lovers in my family, with this in mind I would like to present to you today the positive part of eggs less you have scrambled information in your mind.

C. First I will look at the nutritional values of eggs, secondly the economic value, and lastly The versatility of the incredible, edible egg.

II. Body A. Nutritional Value 1. To understand the value of eggs we must first understand the myth of kamikaze cholesterol. From the American Egg board we learn that there are 2 types of cholesterol.

First is dietary (the cholesterol you consume in foods) and secondly blood cholesterol (the cholesterol in your bloodstream, also called serum cholesterol) and I quote "Dietary cholesterol is present in varying amounts in some foods, such as meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, and dairy products. Dietary cholesterol does not automatically become blood cholesterol when you eat it. Your body makes most of your blood cholesterol. Individuals vary in how much cholesterol their body makes. There is little doubt that elevated blood cholesterol levels increase heart disease risk. But the effect of dietary cholesterol on blood cholesterol levels is the subject of debate among health professionals. That's because research does not show that food cholesterol significantly boosts blood cholesterol levels in everyone." End quote.
