Problematiser udsagnet og tag stilling til sprogets
betydning.
At ordet skaber, hvad det nævner, er en opfattelse, der kommer
til udtryk
på forskellige måder i forskellige sammenhænge. Sandheden af
udsagnet er
imidlertid ikke indiskutabel. I det følgende vil jeg fremføre
argumenter
både for og imod rigtigheden af udsagnet. Jeg vil under hele
teksten gå ud
fra, at Grundtvigs udsagn ikke skulle tages helt bogstaveligt.
Der er mange både i Danmark og i de fleste andre lande i
verden, der går
ind for en eller anden form for censur. Det er et af de steder,
hvor man
kan se, at mange folk langt hen af vejen mener, at ordet
skaber, hvad det
nævner. Det er et udtryk for den tro/opfattelse, at man
allerede når man
snakker om noget, er i gang med at udføre det. Derfor er nogen
bange for,
at allerede når man viser vold i film, er man på vej til at
begå vold i den
virkelige verden. Tanke og gerning følger altså nødvendigvis
hinanden.
Baggrunden for censur er jo ofte den opfattelse, at den blotte
bevidst-
gørelse (nævnelse) af muligheden for politisk ukorrekte/
syndige gerninger,
vil være årsag til en fysisk manifestation af dem (eller den
opfattelse, at
bevidstgørelsen om synden i sig selv, er ligeså uønskelig, som
synden
selv).
At have den mening, at ordet skaber, hvad det siger, leder dog
ikke nød-
vendigvis til censur Det kan også godt være begrundelse for at
skabe
debat, der så ligeså godt, eller ligefrem nødvendigvis vil
resultere i større
viden og bedre valg, ud fra synspunktet, at jo mere man har
diskuteret,
debatteret og behandlet et emne, jo mere man ved om et emne, og
jo større
overblik man har over sammenhængene,
