Human resource planning has been changing contemporary organisations of company worldwide. The benefits of human resource planning and human resource strategy need to be considered simultaneously because both are concerned with the number of employees, skill levels, skill type, and flow of information within an organisation. This essay will attempt to discuss the relevance of human resource planning to contemporary organizations.
Conceptually, human resource planning determines the human resource required by the organisation to achieve its strategic goals. It is 'the process for ensuring that the human resource requirements of an organisation are identified and plans are made for satisfying those requirements' (Bulla and Scott, 1994). Human resource planning is based on the belief that the aim of human resource planning in any organisation will the appropriate skills, context but in general terms. The typical aims are shown below (Armstrong, 2001).
