A Fight For Survival On a rainy Wednesday night, a 24-year-old man walked down Garden Road, on his way to the Park Hotel. For several months, he had worked as a waiter at the up-scale dinning hall in the Hotel. That night, his new line of employment causes him to return. The hotel was crammed with guests. More than 200 people had gathered to celebrate Passover. Shortly after 7:00pm, the young man made his way through the crowded lobby, to the middle of the dinning hall. There, where he had once worked in a white linen jacket to serve these guests, he now stood in his long overcoat with far more sinister intensions. His hand reached inside his coat and pressed a switch. Abdel Besset Odeh triggered the detonation of more than 20 pounds of explosives strapped to his body, and in doing so, triggered the largest Israeli invasion of the West Bank since the 1967 Middle East War, An action that is justified by the Palestinian Authority harboring and encouraging of those how undertake such barbaric acts of violence.

When was the last time you ate at a restaurant? When were you at a nightclub, a coffee shop, or even just walking down the street? We in America go about these things without a second thought. Just try to imagine what it would be like to live in Israel, where fear for your life must be considered. Every person must ask themselves if sitting down with a friend over coffee is worth risking your life for. They must look at every one else around them not as a fellow countryman, but as a possible suicide bomber. Americans have had a difficult time getting use to the new "high" security at our airports. Yet, Israelis must undergo such scrutiny...
