Abstract
This paper focuses on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that is most commonly known as Obamacare. It is an act that is certainly one of the largest and most controversial in decades. It has also certainly become one of the most polarizing subjects that the country has debated in decades. There seems to be no middle ground on the subject. If a dozen people are asked about Obamacare, chances are twelve different views will be offered up. Signed into law in 2010, it has remained in the forethoughts of people as both a great concept and the evil deed that ended capitalism. The rollout for individuals in the fall of 2013 has once again brought this argument into the spotlight.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. It was put in place with the goal of producing quality and affordable healthcare in the United States. Basically it is an attempt to provide healthcare for everyone including those that are currently uninsured and do it in a manner that will provide healthcare in an economically affordable manner. The basic premise is to offer all applicants certain minimum standards regardless of pre-existing conditions.
Of course the whole concept of providing everyone with something whether they want it or not flies in the face of the free market system that exists in the United States. The next argument descends into whether or not the United States is...
