Athens vs. Sparta

Athens and Sparta were so different that they hardly had anything in common. That's why I want to tell you about their differences.

In Sparta people worship their bodies. In Athens people worship their minds. In Sparta people and slaves live in camps. In Athens people live free. In Sparta women can own land. In Athens women can't. In Sparta there were no luxuries. In Athens there were many luxuries such as temples and theaters. In Sparta they only use their body for war. In Athens they use both mind and body for war. In Sparta the house slaves are only used to keep the house clean. In Athens slaves were like part of the family. In Sparta kids didn't go to school. In Athens kids went to school. In Sparta there was no theater. In Athens theater was one of the ways kids learned. In Sparta there was no agora.

In Athens there were agoras which were a form of Greek marketplace. In Sparta there was no art. In Athens there were countless pieces of art. In Sparta there was no science. In Athens there was the best scientists of their time.

That's some of the many differences between Athens and Sparta. I think you can see that they're almost completely opposite.
