Napoleon Bonaparte was a military genius who became the master of France and
forever changed its history. He was a strong masterful leader who led France as a self-
appointed emperor and who cared for his country. He restored France after the war. He
also led many battles and gave the soldiers a strong drive to fight and win. He ruled
France with great honor and power, but his strong hunger for power resulted in his
downfall.
Napoleon was born August 15, 1769 on the Mediterranean Island of Corsica. At the
young age of nine, his parents sent him to a military school in France and by age 16 he
became a lieutenant in the artillery. While in the artillery, he was given the power and
was asked to defend the delegates of France. Despite several attempts on his life,
including a bomb set off on a street he was on, he appointed himself emperor in 1804.
In France it was customary for the Pope to place the crown on the head of the new
emperor. As the Pope waited with the crown, Napoleon took the crown from him and
placed it on his own head. By doing this, Napoleon came off as an arrogant leader who
thought he was more powerful than the church. He cared for the country of France and
helped them become a stronger country and expand their power. Napoleon was a
powerful leader who cared for his country. He was very strong, but he was also
somewhat arrogant and self-involved. He helped change France and ruled over them as
an Emperor.
Napoleon helped restore France after the war. France had been in a time of
disagreement with Britain, Austria, and Russia. All of who wanted to drive Napoleon
