This study assessed why enlisted members of Garrison Command on Fort Leonard Wood joined the United States Army. Enlistment into the United States Armed Forces has changed tremendously throughout the years. Not everyone decides to join the armed forces for the same reasons.

As of January 2002 there were approximately 708 enlisted soldiers assigned to Garrison Command on Fort Leonard Wood. Although the number of enlisted soldiers in the Army has been declining over the years, the number of enlisted soldiers assigned to Garrison Command has increased since January 2001.
