Kanye West Video

In 2004, Kanye West received ten Grammy Award nominations, making him the most nominated artist of the year. Kanye won three Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Album "The New Workout Plan was the fourth single released from Kanye's album ''The College Dropout.'' The New Workout Plan didn't win any awards in 2004, but the video could be seen on MTV, VH1, and BET for a long period of time.

"The New Workout Plan" video displays gender stereotyping. The women in the video are shown as sex objects in degrading positions. The female characters in this video are desperately trying to obtain male attention in swimsuits, while the men are fully clothed. The women are also shown defining their own worth on what they can do for and get from a man.

The video starts with the following introduction, "You just popped in the Kanye West get right for the summer workout tape and ladies if you follow these instructions exactly you might bear to pull you a rapper, an NBA player, at least a dude with a car.

So first of all, we are going to work on the stomach. Nobody wants a little tight ass."

The lyrics of the song convey a message that women should look a certain way for men. To me the video also says that men should get a large amount of money, so they can be attractive to beautiful video girls. The message in the video is a strong example of what gender stereotyping is in our society.

Anna Nicole Smith is featured as one of the girls in the video. She is notorious for her 1994 marriage to J. Howard Marshall II, who was more than 60 years older.
