Suicide in General.

Thousands of teenagers commit suicide each year, but how many people actually take the time to find out why they took they're lives? That is one of the main things I wanted to find out. Why teenagers commit suicide and whether or not their peers could have detected warning signs. I want to know what they're thinking about when they just about to kill themselves, or at least an idea of what could be going on in there heads. Whether they're scared, confident that this is the right choice, completely wasted from drugs or freaked out by the thought of it but still seem to find the last bit of fortitude to kill themselves.

When I was in the fifth grade, my class had seen a video on suicide. That was probably the first time the issue was brought right in front of me. I had heard of suicide before hand, but I didn't realize how serious an issue it was.

It was depressing to see how sad their friends and families were after their death. The whole suicide issue had caught my attention back then. To be honest, it was most likely because the teacher who showed us the videotape and taught our drug prevention classes was pretty cool. I couldn't totally think the idea of someone taking their life over problems I thought could have been easily solved. Even after four years I still don't completely get it. However, I do know that being a teenager is stressful and filled with incomprehensible feelings that we usually don't know how to deal with or express. Unfortunately I don't know all too much about this topic, but I guess that's why I'm researching it.

I think many people know the symptoms, but few actually pay...
