A. The Company

Name: Greek Community Childcare Centre

Location:

Products and Services: This service provides long day care to children aged from 0-5 years of age.

Organisational Structure: The childcare centre is sponsored by the Greek Community. It is a non-profit organisation, which means it provides its service purely for the benefit of its members. Included is the format of the organisational structure of the centre. (Appendix 1)

Number of Employees and types of Employees: The childcare centre employs 14 staff. The staff range in qualifications and experience.

They are as follows:

1 Director

2 Assistant Directors

4 Group Leaders

4 Assistants

1 Cook

1 Administrator / Book-keeper

1 Maintenance / Cleaner

Sales Turnover: The childcare centre does not have a sales turnover as such, but collects fees from parents which covers the running costs of the care provided. Left over cash is put back into the childcare centre, for upgrading or other purposes.

B. The Situation

Team structure, number and type of employees, team tasks

The team consists of 14 different employees that hold different qualifications. The team is structured in such a way that employees rely on each other to get the job done. The employees that work in the centre itself consists of the director, assistant directors, assistants, bookkeeper, cook and cleaner. Each member of the team has different tasks, responsibilities and duties, the main priority being the caring of children in a safe, organised and fun environment. All members of the team are responsible for providing a safe happy and healthy environment for everyone. The team tasks and duties for each member varies, all staff are answerable to the director.
