The National Football League, more commonly referred to as the NFL, is arguably this country's most popular sports league. The league has been in existence for almost 100 years. Football is a game of violence, aggression, and brute force, and this is what makes the game so compelling to the American audience. American society is enthralled by the demolishing, bone-crushing, jaw-dropping collisions that the NFL supplies on what is practically a play-by-play occurrence. This is what makes the NFL the highest grossing sports league in the country, coming in at $9.5 billion earned in 2012. (Gaines). However these hits come at a price, these hits lead to more injuries in football than any other sport. It now seems that the most common injury in football is the concussion. This is an injury that can be hard to diagnose but that can have serious side effects if it is undiagnosed or ignored.

I argue that the NFL is liable for and must provide significant assistance, in the form of payment and medical care, to current and former NFL players who have been diagnosed with concussions sustained while participating in the sport. We see the need for this due to the fact that the National Football League intentionally covered up the issue of health risks associated with concussions suffered while playing football, as well as not informing the players of this possible health risk Due to this players can develop CTE and other life threatening dieses.
