Freedom of our Nation?s Citizens

What is freedom anyway? Where does our freedom stop and someone else?s begin, and vice versa? Do we have to right to practice our freedom even if it impedes another individual's rights? If this nation is a free nation, then shouldn?t we be able to act any way we please?

These are just a few of the questions I?ve heard and I?m sure you have heard also. In my opinion there is no absolute freedom. Once you interact with another your freedom and his are obstructed in the name of compromise. I truly wanted to know what freedom really was and I also thought that if we both were on the same terms and learned together then we would easier reach an understanding. So I took the liberty and looked up the word to see what itreally meant.

· Freedom- the state of being at liberty rather then in confinement or under physical restraint; ease or facility of movement or action; exemption from external control, interference, regulation.

Hmm? Well if that?s the definition of freedom and we have freedom, then we should be able to lash out and act as we please, even if it hurts another, right? And according to the definition, as a consequence, we have the liberty to not be under any physical restraint, right? And not just being free of physical restraint, but from any control, interference, or regulation, right? WRONG!

Going back to the 1st definition, freedom is- the state of being at liberty rather then in confinement or under physical restraint. So does that mean that as a consequence we have the liberty to not be under any physical restraint? NO, that is not what the definition says, it?s simply saying that can not be tied up for no...
