Many characters have been blamed for Romeo and Juliet's death in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This story is a tragedy about two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, whose love cannot apart them from two feuding families. They first met each other at the Capulets and Juliet realized too late that Romeo was an enemy because he was a Montague. Their marriage went off to a bad start and that was when many of the deaths occurred. This story is a tragedy because of the deaths of Mercutio, Tybalt, Lady Montague, Paris, and, of course, Romeo and Juliet. In my opinion, Friar Lawrence was the irresponsible character to blame for these tragedies because he encouraged Juliet to fake her death. Doing this caused Balthasar to incorrectly tell Romeo that Juliet died, and then Romeo decided to procure a deadly poison from an apothecary.

Actually, this made the tensions between the Capulets and the Montagues rise because Romeo was an enemy. Friar did not ever notice that Romeo was an enemy because he was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet. From another one of Friar's quotes "...To comfort thee, though thou art banished" (IV.v.59), this was a sign that the feud was not getting better; it was only getting worse because of the marriage. Friar literally made Romeo fight with Tybalt and then Romeo was banished from Verona because Tybalt was a Capulet, and then Tybalt's death caused Juliet to be overcome with grief. Friar comforted Romeo but was not apologetic about what had happened to Romeo. This was where the plot of Romeo and Juliet thickens because deaths...
