a) Introduction

Museums are places containing enormous educational and entertainment opportunities.

Museums are manifests of the cultural, educational and sometimes military developments

a society over centuries. No doubt museums are places in which people from every sector

of society can learn a lot. Museums can also serve as places in which entire history of the

society and on a broader level entire world are saved (Andrews, 2012). Over the past two

or three decade internet has become a place fulfilling educational and entertainment

needs of humans. Nearly everything is seemed to be at the finger tips of people in near

future. In this era of virtual reality in which people are getting familiar with 3D imaging

and 3D glasses available even in cinema the museums are lacking with necessary

technology or arrangements. Virtual museums are using static or 360 web viewer lacking

realism and leave an unpleasant impression on the viewer. Research is focused on the

methods which can be used to solve the problem.

b) Virtual Reality and Museums

Virtual Reality (VR) or virtual environments have drawn much attention in the last few

years. Virtual reality has provided a new paradigm of user interface and it provides great

benefits in many application areas (Schweibenz, 2004).The user can watch and

manipulate the simulated environments created with the help virtual reality in the same

way as in real world. Therefore many applications like flight simulators, architectural
