Abortion is a choice of life or death that has affected over 1 million women this year alone. Abortion is defined as termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival. Many people believe that abortion is wrong because as of now scientists and doctors are 100% sure that a fetus is a person. Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued since the late 1970's and will continue to be argued for many more years. Abortion is not only wrong, but dangerous to women physically and mentally, according to statistics around the United States.

When women first started getting abortions, the suction method was the most popular. This method works like a vacuum cleaner, by sucking the placenta out and by tearing the baby's body into pieces and the hose frequently jerks as pieces of the baby become lodged.

As the years go by, "easier" alternatives are being offered. Drug abortions are becoming more popular and convenient. Salt poisoning and prostaglandin are two of the most common drug abortions being performed. Salt poisoning is when a needle is inserted through the women's abdomen and about 50 ml of amniotic fluid is withdrawn and replaced with a chemical salt solution. This solution is what the baby breathes in. The baby is poisoned when he or she swallows the salt. The baby's skin is burned and deteriorates. About an hour after the procedure is performed, the baby dies. A day and a half later, the mother goes into labor, and delivers a dead, shriveled baby. Prostaglandin is a mixture of chemicals that contain concentrations of artificial prostaglandins that induces violent labor.
