In an effort to modify, correct, and optimistically improve the lives of others, psychologists attempt to predict, and define the multiple aspects of the human experience and functions using the scientific method. Since the beginning, Psychology has grown into a multi-faceted study that has fifty-four unique sub divisions. Each of these sub divisions addresses a unique perspective of psychology and a distinctive feature of human relationships. The diversity of psychology is evident in the variety and vastness of its uses today. A degree in psychology holds far more options for those that obtain one than a clinical applications. A degree in psychology can be used to work in the field as a forensic psychologist, or in the business world helping business train employees for the best and most successful fit.

Still psychology offers the clinical and therapeutic benefits as it has always done and it will continue to provide but the all-encompassing nature is beneficial to society as well.

The Influence of Diversity on Major Concepts in Psychology

The fifty-four divisions of psychology represent focuses on specific areas and subdivisions of psychology (Landrum, 2010). These sub-divisions cover a vast diversity of subjects such as cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, or psychodynamic perspective. Each of these perspectives offers a distinctive approach and solution to challenges presented. Each perspective approaches the challenges of human behavior from a different emphasis such as the cognitive, unconscious, social, or spiritual. Believing that the solution is approached from the underlying event or contribution to the behavior.
