Far across the distance, crossing seven continents, in the folds of mighty Trikuta Hills, lies the holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. This Shrine is located in India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir at a height of 5,300 feet above sea level. It is a famous temple in India; however, not many people outside the country know its value. Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the oldest Hindu Shrines of India, which was built to pay regards to a highly respected Goddess, Mata Vaishnavi. A little known place people should visit is the Vaishno Devi Temple in India.

First, people should visit Vaishno Devi Temple because it is a pilgrimage that provides peace to one’s mind. Popular belief holds that anybody who walks the Himalayan trail to the Mata’s abode to ask for a boon rarely goes back disappointed. In order to erecieve Mata’s blessings, however, a pilgrim has to walk approximately 8 miles uphill from the base camp.

The chanting of slogans in the mountains has a mystic effect and urges the mountains to give way to its pilgrims and help them cover the long and laborious trek to the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. A pilgrimage to this shrine is known to be the mother of all pilgrimages, where faith can move mountains and paying respect at the Mata’s lotus feet has the power to soothe all human souls.

Second, people should visit Vaishno Devi Temple because it is beautiful. The natural beauty of the mountains and the well-maintained road, right to the top, is literally out of this world.
