Saving Schools and Students from "No Child Left Behind"

Lastly, "No Child Left Behind" does not make teachers and schools by any means more accountable. This bill focuses mostly on student achievement on a series of exams, but fails to prepare students for life and the real world.

To start off, George W. Bush's "No Child Left Behind Act" is considered the rebirth of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), No Child Left Behind's main goal is to make sure that all students test proficient by the year 2014. Bush's act is built off of four main principles: stronger accountability for results, more freedom for states and communities, proven education methods/quality of education, and more choices for parents.
