It was good for an 8th grader. The others who rated this may not be considering the age of the writer.

I enjoyed reading this. I know someone who is very close to me just like you. You are not alone. Get a good education and you will go far. Get out of the system. You don't have to let history repeat itself. Good luck.

I found this essay to be right to the point, not too long, yet very informative, and nicely written.

This is just a time line. Even though there is a lot of info, you can get this information very easily from the internet and history books. I was expecting an essay, not a time line.

The problem with this essay is that it is titled, "the Pain of War," but it doesn't describe what the pain of war is other then his dying. Once you're dead, you can't feel. Its an okay little essay, but does not go into depth at all. I opened this expecting to read how a true soldier feels on the battlefield. Scared, hungry, sad for his fellow troops, etc. and it just was not there.
