This is an essay about two differant types of sensors.
Sensors
Sensors are a way of life in today's society. Sensors have not been around for a long period of time. It was not till the 1970s that inventors actually got cracking on this new technology that would soon sweep the nation. In this essay you will learn about two type's sensors; first one being the photoelectric sensor and its applications and the other one is thru-beam sensor and its applications.
One of the most widely used sensors is the Photoelectric Sensor. The photoelectric sensor is a device with tremendous versatility and it is rather cheap. One of the main advantages of the photoelectric sensor is that it is able to detect objects quickly and at further distances that of other technologies out in today's growing market. The photoelectric sensor so mainly designed for two reasons, to detect an object or to detect no object. The photoelectric sensor like all sensors runs on infrared light. You might ask your self what is infrared light? Well infrared light is light that the human eye can not detect. Infrared light is way up there in the light spectrum. What are some advantages of using infrared light? For one it can not be detected if you are do use infrared light in security purposes you obviously do not want a stranger knowing where the sensor is.
One application of the photoelectric sensor is used in bathrooms where we do our business. Instead of using the nasty filthy flushers that everyone uses, engineers came up with a great idea. The bathroom sensor works like this, first of it is set on a wall and set at a low range readability, probably no more than three feet. When you step into the range of the sensor it is activated. It will than wait till you...
